On June 5, the young artist Agathe Romane, who lives between Nîmes and Bagnols-sur-Cèze, will release her first EP entitled Repli. A project that she will present in particular at the Occitane bookstore on Friday June 12.
To her credit, Agathe Romane already has nine singles. “But I wanted to start on a more sustained project”says the young 27-year-old artist who lives between Nîmes and Bagnols-sur-Cèze. Hence the release of his first EP on June 5. Titled Fallbackit is composed of five pieces, and a bonus track for future owners of the CD, written and composed by him. In this adventure, she is also accompanied by bassist Vincent Cegielski, who takes care of the arrangements, as well as drummer Paul Rougelin and guitarist Jérémie Aubert.
A showcase at the Occitane bookstore
“The EP started from a somewhat pessimistic observation about today’s society. But there is not only a negative vision since I bring my own solutions. And Repli, because it goes a little into the corners, the mazes of my thoughts”explains Agathe Romane. Who will therefore present his project on June 12, at 6 p.m., at the Occitane bookstore in Bagnols-sur-Cèze, during a showcase. A format that the singer-songwriter wants “acoustic and intimate to really discover the texts of the songs”.
This Ben Mazué fan has been immersed in music since a very young age. With a father whose group she went to see in concert and with a mother who was a fan of French songs. She studied piano for ten years in music school, took a few singing lessons but mainly practiced as a self-taught person, passed her music specialty baccalaureate… “I always needed to write songs”confides the one who then gave singing lessons for two years at the Gard Rhone conservatory. Before giving 100% to his personal project, to the style “pop romanqesque”
A prize at the young talents exchange
A project that convinces since it won the Hope Prize at the Young Talents Exchange in Nîmes in 2024 and was selected by the MANU scheme at the Paloma room which consists of supporting emerging Gard artists. “It helped us to get started, to give a professional dynamic to the project”she assures. In addition to the concerts she will give to present her EP – on June 18 at the Spot in Nîmes, on the Ici Gard Lozère stage in Nîmes for the Music Festival – Agathe Romane will pass on her passion by offering, from September, singing lessons and writing workshops on Nîmes.
