Since the end of his military service, several anecdotes regarding V from BTS continue to surface. Recently, a former soldier who served in the same platoon as him shared new memories that testify to the artist’s kindness, generosity and sense of responsibility during his time in the army.
These revelations appeared after an anecdote told by V himself attracted the attention of Internet users.
During a recent live on Weverse with the members of BTS, V remembered an unusual moment experienced during his military training.
He explained that during a Catholic mass organized at the training center, a priest had asked the recruits to give their baptismal first name. But under stress, one of the soldiers responded by citing the names of several video game characters he liked.
“I really like Mordekaiser, Miss Fortune and Lux! HAS”he would have declared, provoking laughter from the assembly.
After this live, a former roommate of V spoke online to confirm the story. He also took the opportunity to share several memories of their training period together.
According to this former soldier, V was part of the same first platoon as him during basic training. He says that despite the demanding conditions of the training, the BTS member wanted to thank his comrades for their efforts. For this, he would have offered them a meal consisting of Hanwoo beef, a Korean meat renowned for its quality.
This gesture would have marked many soldiers present at the time.
He also recalled a memory dating back to Christmas. That day, several soldiers attended a performance in a military church.
At the end of the show, the audience asked V to come and greet the assembly. Wishing to remain discreet, the artist first tried to leave the scene after simply saying hello. Finally, he turned around one last time to send a smile and a wave of the hand to the soldiers present, triggering a strong reaction from the public.
His former comrade also highlighted his involvement as platoon leader, a position he had agreed to occupy during his service. “He was always kind, positive and constantly helped the peloton move in the right directionâ€at-il déclaré.
He added: “He had a lot of humor and a big heart. He was a really caring person.”
V began his military service in December 2023. After basic training, he was assigned to the Special Duty Team (SDT), a military police unit attached to the 2nd Corps of the South Korean Army.
According to several testimonies, he regularly offered meals to his comrades and his superiors. He also reportedly helped equip his base’s gym with fitness equipment.
His former colleagues describe him as a reliable person, always ready to listen to the concerns of others.
According to them, even after his demobilization, V remained in contact with his former unit. About forty days after leaving the army, he returned to his base to present a bouquet of flowers to his successor during his departure ceremony.
A gesture which once again marked his former comrades.
