
			

Everyone knows The Chorists and the soundtrack of the film, See your path. And the composer of this music, among many others, it’s Bruno Coulais. And he is the guest of honor at the 12th edition of the La Baule Film and Film Music Festival which will take place from June 24 to 28, 2026.
The theme of travel as a common thread
Every year, La Baule organizes its festival to pay tribute to cinema and film music on a theme that guides its programming. This year it is the Journey which will be the common thread, a theme that particularly resonates with the career of Bruno Coulais which has spanned eras and cinematic genres.
Awarded three Césars and nominated for an Oscar, Bruno Coulais has created more than two hundred scores for cinema and television. From the Himalayas to Coraline, from The Purple Rivers to Oceans, its sound universe, mixing poetry, mystery and evocative power, became immediately recognizable.
30 years of success for Microcosmos
So to celebrate his fifty years of career, his forty years of feature film music and thirty years of Microcosmos : the grass people, one of the three films which earned him a César, the festival has a beautiful tribute in store for him.
A closing concert at the Palais des Congrès
The culmination of this will take place on Saturday June 27, 2026 during a concert at the Palais des Congrès Atlantia. The composer will perform a selection of his greatest works… just after the festival’s awards ceremony. The public will be able to discover the emotional force of his scores… those which have accompanied generations of spectators and marked the collective memory of cinema.

A new poster and a historic centenary
This 2026 edition will also be supported by a symbolic poster, conceived in 2020 but never revealed due to the health crisis. By revealing it today, the festival affirms its desire to link memory and renewal, emblematic of La Baule which is celebrating its centenary this year.
