The salty air of the Atlantic is about to vibrate to the rhythm of the bass. This 2026 edition is gaining momentum with the presence of ten artists on stage, offering musical styles ranging from jazz pianist to pop rock and electro, with a particularly symbolic kick-off.

On a giant screen, “a clip on living together will be projected to celebrate our differences,” explains Hervé Delrieu, director and editor-in-chief of FGL. The artist Jules Loetwert will then lead the way with six or seven children on stage to cover Pauline’s piece, “Allo le monde”. “A choir of 200 to 300 children from the Meyrie school will be present on the sides of the stage and in the audience to create a happening,” the organizer also specifies.

At 10:15 p.m., the coastline will shift into another dimension. “Works by Monet and Van Gogh will adorn the facade of the casino. The gaze of spectators will then turn towards the heights, where luminous structures, such as a whale and a moon, accompanied by giant arms, will be distributed above the dune, describes Hervé Delrieu. From 10:30 p.m., when it is completely dark, the installations on the dune will be illuminated.”

A children’s choir

The deployment of such a device, marked by a 100 square meter stage, responds to a clear strategic ambition. The choice to schedule this event at the beginning of June is no coincidence: “We wanted to ensure that the summer season started earlier, so that it would be longer for local businesses,” explains the director of FGL.

This impulse aims to boost the activity of hoteliers, restaurateurs and traders in the Great Lakes region before the months of July and August. For the radio, which makes its living from local advertising, it is about “returning the favor to the economic players in the region. This is the first economical shoot of the summer season.”

The event, with a budget of around 75,000 euros self-financed by the resort and its partners, generates a valuable parallel economy for local businesses. “The influence of the Oceans goes far beyond the Landes borders. This year, Polish listeners asked the tourist office to plan their visit,” the organizer proudly declares.

An eco-responsible event

Beyond the spectacle, the Océanes stand out as a model of eco-responsible event. The festival has already succeeded in eliminating 900 kilos of plastic waste by replacing bottles with water fountains and water bottles. This year, 1,000 jute bags will be offered to the public to encourage “zero plastic” picnics.
