Three hospitalized after late night crash in Omaha
Three people are injured after a crash late Tuesday in the Omaha metro.
The crash happened just after 10 p.m. Tuesday near Fontenelle Boulevard and Maple Street.
Police dispatch tells First Alert 6 initial reports indicate two victims have serious injuries, and the third has non-life-threatening injuries.
Omaha Police asking for public help in searching for missing man
The Omaha Police Department is asking for the public’s help in searching for a missing adult.
In a release, OPD says 22-year-old Erik Dinkel was last seen on Sunday, March 22.

Dinkel is a white male, 6 feet tall, 180 pounds, wears glasses, and was last seen wearing a grey shirt and black jeans. He is diagnosed with autism and is known to use the bus system.
Those who may have seen him are urged to call 911.
Omaha man allegedly starts brush fire, assaults deputies
An man was arrested Monday for allegedly starting a brush fire in northwest Omaha and attacking Douglas County Sheriff’s Office deputies.
Joshua Grover, 37, of Omaha, was booked for 3rd-degree arson and assault on an officer. He is being held at Douglas County Corrections on a $3,500 bond.

The sheriff’s office reported deputies being dispatched to the area of 108th Street and McKinley for a call of a man starting a brush fire.
Grover was seen walking away from the property and was placed under arrest. While being booked into jail, “Grover became physically combative, kicking deputies,” and threatened to kill them, according to the arrest affidavit.
He is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
One person killed in fuel tank explosion at Iowa salvage yard
One person died in an explosion at an Iowa salvage yard Tuesday afternoon, according to the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office.
FCSO says one person died as a result of the explosion at a salvage yard in Bartlett. According to the sheriff’s office, investigators determined the employee was in the process of taking apart a “large commercial fuel tank” at the time of the explosion.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of the family.
Four fire departments, along with the Iowa State Fire Marshal’s Office, responded to the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
Nebraska lawmakers facing budget deadline Wednesday
Nebraska lawmakers face a deadline Wednesday to send a budget plan to Gov. Jim Pillen.
The state’s deficit sits at nearly $650 million. Last Thursday, lawmakers couldn’t get enough votes to end debate on the budget bill, stalling progress at a critical stage.
Wednesday’s deadline is a scheduling benchmark. If they miss the deadline, lawmakers can still rework the bill, negotiate changes, and bring it back for another vote.
The hard deadline comes in April when Pillen must approve the final budget before the next fiscal year begins. By law, the Legislature must find a way to balance the budget.
Creighton’s Greg McDermott to share more on decision to retire
On Wednesday, First Alert 6 expects to hear more about Creighton basketball head coach Greg McDermott’s decision to retire.
McDermott announced Monday that he will retire after the team’s final game in the College Basketball Crown tournament in Las Vegas, according to a release.
He led the team for 16 years. In Nov. 2024, he became Creighton’s all-time winningest coach after getting his 328th victory with the Jays, surpassing his predecessor, Dana Altman.
