Love story: Vianney and Catherine Robert, a happy blended family

They are discreet, but do not miss certain sporting events. Thursday May 28, 2025, Vianney was seen in the company of his wife, cellist Catherine Robert, in the stands of Roland-Garros. A rare appearance for the couple who formed ten years earlier. A look back at their story.

Music enthusiasts

It was in 2016 that Vianney and Catherine Robert met. The circumstances are unclear, but their passion for music would have something to do with it. She has been known on the French scene for around ten years since the explosion of her title Pas là, while she has already collaborated with several artists such as Véronique Sanson, Kendji Girac or Julie Zenatti.

Vianney also spoke about the way his partner used to work. “She is very demanding. With her instrument, she is a perfectionist like I rarely see in the studio,” he declared to the media Lou in September 2025.

Both remain far from the spotlight, but have already been seen at several editions of Roland-Garros, because they are big tennis fans. The couple also met on a few rare occasions, notably in 2018. On the set of the show Cet SoiréeLà, at the Zénith in Paris, Catherine Robert was among the musicians who played behind Vianney. The cellist was also on the set of the final of The Voice in May 2018 alongside him.

A blended family

Vianney and Catherine Robert form a blended family. At the time of their meeting, the musician was already the mother of a little girl, from a previous union. A special relationship for the singer who was inspired by it to write the song Beau-papa.Â

The couple, who married in July 2020, then expanded their family by giving birth to Edgar in October 2021. An arrival which changed the singer’s outlook. “I need to take a break because it’s true that I have a baby and I really like to see him grow,” he confided to 50 Minutes Inside in March 2023.

On social networks, Vianney sometimes reveals a glimpse of their daily life, while everyone pursues their career while having a family life. In August 2024, the singer published a photo of him and his partner, practicing with his instrument.

 

“Dear diary, today I learned that recording a cello with a two and a half year old child in the studio was quite an ambitious thing,” he wrote with a touch of humor. Before specifying: “But, apart from that, everything is going well”.
