Iran and Russia consult on establishing a new security paradigm in the region
Ali Bagheri Kani, deputy secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council for foreign policy and international security affairs, spoke separately with Russian Deputy Foreign Ministers Sergey Ryabkov and Georgy Borissenko, to address various issues, including the establishment of a new security paradigm in the region.
The Iranian news agency IRNA reported on Thursday, citing the Iranian embassy in Moscow, that Mr. Bagheri Kani, visiting Moscow to participate in the 14th meeting of senior security officials, spoke with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Borisenko.
During this meeting, which was also attended by the Iranian Ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, the participants exchanged their views on the latest developments, the American and Zionist military aggression against Iran, the establishment of a new security balance in the region and the strengthening of cooperation to consolidate regional peace, stability and security, as well as other events concerning Iran and Russia at the regional and international levels.
Mr. Baqeri also met with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov, with whom he reviewed the latest developments.
They exchanged views on major regional and international developments, the legal consequences of the recent military aggression against Iran and the establishment of new cooperation structures aimed at strengthening security and stability in the regional environment.
