It is to a concert certainly marked with the seal of quality to which the Muretains are invited, tomorrow evening, at the Saint-Jacques church (8:30 p.m.). On the program: sacred music in all its forms, in a double format concert, first the so-called “Orphanage” Mass by Mozart, then an anthology of works by Vivaldi, Fauré and Fiocco.

The Continuo vocal ensemble is made up of 50 singers. Created in 1976 by Paul Caubisens, the Cugnaux Vocal Ensemble changed its name and continues its journey under the name “Ensemble Vocal Continuo”. Under the baton of its young conductor, Bénilde Prats, who brings her own musical color and sensitivity, the Ensemble remains in the tradition of the group and presents each season a program of classical sacred works, mainly baroque. Its desire is to offer quality performances thanks to significant vocal technical work, while remaining open to all amateurs with or without musical training.

This year, the Vocal Ensemble is celebrating its fifty years of existence. The opportunity to open the program with an early work by Mozart which already announces all the vitality and originality of the artist: the Mass in C minor (Waïsenhausmesse), therefore Orphanage Mass. It will be completed in the second part with an anthology of the best pieces of the Vocal Ensemble. The choir will be accompanied on the piano by the talented Cécile Milan.

A good moment of music to be enjoyed in the fresh air in the middle of the Saint-Jacques church, the concert being given in favor of the charitable association Tan Madagascar, with free participation from the public (in the hat).
