With the sunny days, it is also the return of outdoor events and the opportunity to discover new horizons, and not necessarily far from home. The 6e  Edition of the Stars festival in Genlis, organized by the municipality and particularly by the culture and events department, returns to the Fairgrounds this May 30.
If Aurélia Mahieu, head of the culture center, has acquired a certain ease in organizing this type of event, with hundreds of visitors over a day, from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., the exercise is necessarily more difficult for the new municipal councilor delegate for culture, Carole Claudel-Salomon, taking over from Gaëlle Thomas who had contributed to the development of this festivity.

At 46 years old, the teacher, who has been at the Paul-Bert school for 18 years, reveals herself: “I am the mother of two children aged 17 and 21 and I was already a municipal councilor in the previous mandate while participating in the culture and demonstrations. Flutist, I was in the ranks of the harmony with the hope of returning there one day and I appreciate the culture in general including improvisation theater and reading. For me, promoting culture through different events allows everyone to make discoveries, develop critical thinking and meet each other. Like Aurélia, I find that the organization of such an event, where we must satisfy all ages, is a real challenge even a test… which must be passed because it is the highlight of the year. »
On the program this year, shows for all audiences of juggling, circus, burlesque, magic with folk dance, a new feature, at 6 p.m. with La Bourguignonne. If the Clair Obscure company is very present, other troops come from Yonne because according to the manager, it is not always easy to program locally. Entrance is free with the presence of four inflatable games, a makeup workshop, a carousel, wooden games and Clairette’s stories. Another new feature, French song and a circus workshop during the lunch break, knowing that this year, it is Toq’Chefs, an association from Thorey-en-Plaine, which is providing the catering. The organization of this event is budgeted at 14,000 € including tax, like last year, and always helped by local patrons almost 50%.
