Giorda – Hypnosis: fascinating entertainment driven by the energy of the audience

Hypnosis continues to fascinate.

Long associated with mystery or the spectacular, it has now established itself even in the medical field. But on stage, she retains this particular power: that of disrupting our perception of reality.

With Hypnose, presented at L’European, Giorda transforms this fascination into real collective entertainment.

It all starts in a fun way. A video projection, a few simple experiments, then an exercise intended to identify the spectators most sensitive to the hypnotic state. Little by little, Giorda refines her selection until she only keeps around ten participants on stage.

And this is where the show takes on its full dimension.

The numbers follow one another, playing on perception, imagination and suggestion. The participants seem to fully experience the situations described by Giorda, convinced that they are real.

The audience laughs a lot.

Because if hypnosis modifies their perception, it never completely erases their personality. And this is precisely what makes each performance different.

The success of the show therefore depends greatly on the spectators chosen on stage. Those in the representation seen turned out to be particularly invested and funny. But Giorda also seems to have developed real expertise in identifying profiles capable of making sequences even more effective.

The “date” number, in particular, stands out for its absurdity and its comic potential.

Above all, Giorda imposes a warm presence. Presented as the first female hypnotist in France, she adopts a more accessible and less authoritarian approach than some very “showmen” hypnotists. A proximity that works well with the public.

The show remains seen above all as entertainment, ideal to discover with friends – especially if one of them ends up on stage.

Some sequences nevertheless appear more repetitive, particularly for those accustomed to show hypnosis, with mechanisms already seen elsewhere.

But the stage efficiency, rhythm and humor easily win over.

A participatory, funny and often impressive show, which above all reminds us of one thing: sometimes, the most fascinating thing is not hypnosis itself… but the way in which our mind agrees to let go.
