This is one of the regrets of the 2025-2026 season of FC Grenoble… which itself resulted in a dull and without much relief: not having been able to count on Gerswin Mouton, very seriously injured in the knee in September 2025 and forced to experience a blank season.
But Grenoble supporters will be able to see the Namibian international in action again next season since FCG-rugby has just formalized its contract extension until 2027.
“We have renewed our confidence in Gerswin, who is a talented player of high caliber,” specifies Aubin Hueber, director of rugby at FC Grenoble, in the official press release. “We believe in him to return to the highest level after his major operation. We can’t wait to see him back on the field.”
Then, he had a series of operations, rehabilitation and re-athletics… Nearly nine months away from the field.
An effective winger, possible center too
In 2026-2027, Gerswin Mouton (26 years old) will return to lend a hand to the Rouge et Bleu and will discover a new coaching staff, made up of Jérôme Villegas and David Irazoqui.
The two technicians will discover a player who has already played 23 matches for FCG, scoring 15 tries. More of a winger, the Namibian international could be placed in the center in the future; a position where he has already shown great qualities in Pro D2.
