After turning the page on L’ache toi, Jérémy Bonnieux transformed his premises on rue Saint-Cyrice into accommodation that was as unusual as it was fun.

In the middle of rue Saint-Cyrice, number 41 took advantage of the winter to transform itself. The premises housed L’hache toi since 2020 and allowed Ruthenois and Aveyron residents to learn ax throwing, very popular across the Atlantic. The brothers Jérémy and Lucas Bonnieux decided to lower the curtain just before the transition to 2026 with one idea in mind: to develop a project more oriented towards events, while cultivating the playful side which is dear to them, by creating a unusual accommodation. And after four months of work, the premises have had a makeover and the Bonnieux family is fine-tuning the final details of their Appart’escape.

The apartment, for which reservations will open on Friday, will offer an immersive journey into pop culture. Without divulging too many details, to leave future visitors a surprise, Jérémy Bonnieux describes: There are four rooms, a living room-kitchen, two bedrooms (sleeps four) and a bathroom, and therefore four settings. To name just one of the universes, there is a room dedicated to Alice in Wonderland. In addition to the scenography, the particularity of the apartment lies in the concept of escape game, which the Bonnieux know well having launched several, including one in Rodez.

“There will be puzzles to solve in each room to advance in the story and in the universes. This will also allow visitors to discover secret passages and objects that will bring another dimension to their stay”adds Jérémy Bonnieux. Board games, a dartboard, billiards and even an outdoor escape game designed by the Bonnieux family, for exploring Rodez in a fun way, complete the offer.

At a rate of 120 euros per night during the week, and 150 euros during the weekends, Appart’escape will see its reservations open in a few days on the Airbnb platform, to offer “for Aveyron residents and non-Aveyron residents, with family or friends, the choice of the unusual”.
