At 45, Sonia Rolland looks back on her personal balance since her marriage. Twenty-five years after her coronation of Miss France, the actress, expected on France 3 in Crimes at Cluny which will be broadcast this Saturday confided in Télé Star about this unexpected union which turned his daily life upside down. She explains that she had long imagined a life without a romantic relationship, saying she had lived “in happy celibacy” and no longer believe in a couple story before this meeting. Her husband, Guillaume Gabriel, also an actor, was first a friend before their relationship took on another dimension. Mother of two daughters, Tess and Kahinafrom previous relationships, today she evokes a newfound stability at her side.
Un retour chargé d’émotions à Cluny
In Crimes à Cluny, Sonia Rolland plays Karine, a gendarmerie captain which she describes as “a little immature but at the same time very lively“. She confides that this role of “colorful heroine” particularly pleased her, notably because it contrasted with the more serious or authoritarian characters that she had previously played. Filming in Burgundy also had a particular resonance for the actress, originally from Cluny, the town where she grew up and where her mother still lives.
She also returns to her deep connection with this place, evoking “a beautiful city where I grew up and where my mother still lives“. Sonia Rolland explains having experienced significant moments there, between family memories and more difficult episodes: “I experienced very strong moments there, the downgrading of my parents when we arrived from Rwanda but also solidarity in my journey as Miss Burgundy in 1999, then Miss France in 2000.”
A final season for Criminal Tropics
Season 8 of Criminal Tropics will be the last. The actress announced it in the interview given to Télé Star. “I’ve been through it, we still shot more than 80 episodesthe last ones will be produced from June, we will find the mood of the very first opuses, there will be questions for the heroines and also a lot of emotion.”
Sonia Rolland has played there since the launch of the series Commander Mélissa Sainte-Rose and single mother of two teenagersone of the main characters of the fiction. Present from the beginning in 2019, she forms with her partner, Gaëlle, a duo of investigators who have become emblematic of the investigations carried out in Martinique.
