Moroccan ambitions particularly target renewable energies. Wind power, solar power and green hydrogen constitute the new levers of a policy aimed at exporting clean electricity to Europe. France, Spain and Germany are positioned at the head of investors, confirming the kingdom’s status as the primary beneficiary of European financing in North Africa.

To lock in its status as an undisputed power, the country will have to resolve the persistent geopolitical impasse, overcome a historic water shortage, curb endemic youth unemployment and formalize a still very large parallel economy.
