Fame can sometimes be heavy to bear, and it is not Julien Courbet who will say the opposite. An emblematic figure of RTL for many years, the host defends consumers on the radio in his show Ça peut vous happens, where he tries to help users confronted with unscrupulous professionals. In 2017, Catherine Courbet’s husband had suffered the wrath of a listener who had requested the broadcast for a two-year-old dispute with a roofer: a deposit of 5,000 euros collected in 2014 for work never carried out, according to the auditor.

Put on the air, the professional quickly became annoyed by Julien Courbet’s pointed questions. The host, unconvinced by his confusing explanations, began to whistle, triggering the anger of his interlocutor: “Stop freaking people out with your bullshit”he declared. The exchange then quickly degenerated: “Who do you think you are? Stop your radio cinema…”to threatening innuendoes about a physical confrontation and a visit to Paris. “On règle ça à coups de boule ?”had launched the host, mad with rage, while the craftsman mentioned “six hours to get down to Paris”. A heated exchange.

Julien Courbet in danger? The family of the host threatened with death by a listener

This Friday, May 22, Julien Courbet spoke on X to share with his subscribers the email that the RTL editorial team received from a listener who was clearly not a fan of the host. “Hello, I am Mr. XX. You will tell Mr. Courbet that this afternoon, I am going to come to his house to slaughter his family”we can read straight away. In his threatening email, the stranger even gives the reasons for this threat which he wishes to carry out. According to him, the TV presenter would take too much “coffee breaks”. “It’s unacceptable now with his coffee breaks all the time. He’s paid to host a show, and not to take coffee breaks all the time, so this afternoon I’m going to slaughter his family at that bastard Courbet”he concludes.

Faced with this virtual threat, Julien Courbet preferred to be ironic about the situation. “Coffee is annoying, but not the person who drinks it”he reacted, before concluding with irony: “If he reads this post, I’ll move on to tea and we’ll talk more about it”. Several listening Internet users immediately gave him their support, recalling the need to report this type of messages to the competent authorities.

Michaël Youn threatened with death by a woman, why does the actor fear for his safety?

Julien Courbet is not the first animator to whom this has happened. May 13, two days after having been victim of home-hacking, Michaël Youn had received death threats on Instagram from a woman presenting herself as a Freemason. “Don’t think I missed you. This was my last warning. Go back to my father’s grave, we will kill your children and you too will be murderedshe wrote. The comedian first reacted in a comment, taken aback: “Uh… is that legal? We have the right to say that we’re going to kill someone? I don’t think so… (I’m not going to call the BRB every day?!)”.

He then spoke at greater length on video, mixing concern and derision: “Monday, two hooded and armed guys come into my house, Wednesday, a girl I don’t know tells me she’s going to murder me… can’t wait until Friday!”. And to specify that it has no link with the person or with the elements mentioned: “I don’t know her, never seen her, I don’t know her father or this grave… Neither the Grand Lodge, nor the small one, nor the medium one: the only lodge I know is that of the guardian. No reptilians, no pyramid giants… In short, I have a good little shitty karma at the moment”he concluded. Between dark humor and weariness, Michaël One prefers laugh about it, but the rest will now be taken very seriously.
