In the columns of the American magazine Varietypresent on the Croisette, the Parisian actress notably praised the qualities of Denis Villeneuve, chosen by the Amazon MGM studios for the production of the next part of the franchise.
« It is extremely cultivatedsaid the actress about the filmmaker. He knows a lot about cinema, but not only that.” Between 2015 and 2021, Léa Seydoux played the character of Madeleine Swann, Bond’s great love, twice in the episodes Spectre et Dying can wait. She shared the bill alongside Daniel Craig, the last 007 agent to date, who bowed out after fifteen years of good and loyal service and five films.

Last year, creative control of James Bond came under the management of Amazon MGM. American studios have paid more than twenty million dollars to secure the catalog of old films from the Broccoli family and take charge of the production of future ones. Léa Seydoux confides having been “Un peu triste” to learn franchise sales. “But as soon as I knew it was Denis Villeneuve, I said to myself: “Oh, at least it’s him, so it will be cinema…”she continues, before adding that she sent him a message in June 2025, when the director was announced at the helm of the next adventures of Agent 007.

Casting lancé
In a press release published on social networks after his appointment, Denis Villeneuve, known for having carried the sagaDune sur le grand écran, a déclaré sa flamme à James Bond. “I’m a huge fan of Agent 007he wrote. For me, he is a sacred character. I grew up watching movies with my dad.”For now, the filmmaker is still waiting to know with which actor he will have to build the next feature film, which is scheduled to be filmed in 2027. The casting of the super-spy was launched last week under the direction of Nina Gold, who unearthed the rare pearls of the series Game of Thrones.
Amazon MGM studios have imposed constraints. The suitor for Bond’s tuxedo will have to be “Un homme britannique” et “jeune”in order to install it over time and to develop several films with this same performer in the title role. Should he, too, receive praise from Léa Seydoux?
