“We want to launch at the beginning of 2027 […] a tour of France with stages to bring Grigny’s appeal to life, ten years later, and to make proposals that will be useful in the context of the presidential and legislative elections,” declared Gilles Leproust (PCF), president of the association, during a press briefing. Launched in October 2017 by around a hundred mayors, the transpartisan appeal from Grigny (Essonne) demanded from the government a boost in favor of working-class neighborhoods, notably by reversing the budget cuts aimed at subsidized contracts.

“Du souci à se faire”

“We are going to work on a document, with a first objective, which is that the 6,000,000 inhabitants of priority neighborhoods are not the ones largely forgotten in this election,” added Gilles Leproust, who intends to play a role of “alert and mobilization to prevent the worst with the arrival of the RN in 2027”. According to him, residents of priority neighborhoods have “something to worry about” because RN elected officials consider “that city policy is too much money wasted”, added the first councilor of Allonnes (Sarthe).
