In 2022, Booba declared war on influencers and their excesses. While his main target was Magali Berdah, the founder of the Shaunaevents agency, the movement had very real repercussions on the entire sector: many influencers saw their income drastically decrease, with product placements becoming increasingly scarce.
Asked by Libération about the reasons for this fight, the Duke of Boulogne was direct: “Because I have an impact and I am followed on social media, it is my mission to denounce it. Now that I am launched into it, I have to finish it. Originally, I do not know these people. They do not interest me, and their shows make me want to vomit every time I see them on TV. The more I criticized them, the more I explored the shitty world of influencers. I discovered the role of their pseudo-manager, Magali Berdah, the queen of triviality. It made me want to dig deeper to understand. Understand why thousands of internet users accuse them of fraud.” Product placements then decreased relatively, changing the lifestyle of many French influencers like Kelly Hélard and Neymar.
Jazz and Laurent in the crosshairs
Among the many targets of the rapper is the couple formed by Jazz and her husband Laurent. It all started with a viral video showing the latter driving a Bugatti Chiron, a shot that did not go unnoticed by Booba. The one who is in a dispute with Aya Nakamura then multiplied the jabs, starting with Jazz’s appearance. In a photo of the young mother, he wrote: “I’m told in my earpiece that Laurent and Jazz have left Dubai. They would have settled in a neighboring country.”
Later, it was Jazz’s feet that he attacked, not without a certain cynicism: “Instead of buying a Chiron, you should have bought her a toe because the sis is in very very bad shape, it’s not going well at all. The shade at Jazz with almost 3000 RT is crazy LOL. How did she manage to get away with a foot like that for so long, it’s incredible! Fortunately, I’m there.”
Twist in Dubai: Booba adds fuel to the fire
The geopolitical context around Dubai gave Booba a new opportunity to bring out heavy artillery. While French influencers based in the emirate were clamoring for repatriation, the rapper published a video of himself on Saturday, March 21, performing, singing aboard a boat during one of his previous days in Dubai.
A scathing message accompanied the post, directly targeting Laurent, accused by many followers of having scammed them: “Dubai will miss us… What do you think where will the influvoleurs Laurent Billionaire and company hide? Many people are still looking for them.” A new jab that confirms that, for Booba, this war against the excesses of influence is far from over.
