- The United Arab Emirates have also been the target of Iran since the start of the American attack on February 28.
- “There is a very serious dispute” between the two countries, particularly territorial, explains General Jean-Claude Allard on LCI.
- According to him, Iran and the United Arab Emirates “are at war”.
Collateral victim or country really at war with Iran? After the start of the Israeli-American bombings on February 28, the United Arab Emirates were among the first Gulf states affected by Iranian retaliation. Nearly three months later, the mullahs’ propaganda is clearly targeting Abu Dhabi (see the video at the top of this article).
The two countries are also at odds because of their territorial ambitions. They dispute the sovereignty of three small islands in the Strait of Hormuz: Abu Musa, Lesser Tunb and Greater Tunb. “There is a dispute”
confirms on LCI General Jean-Claude Allard. And Donald Trump is taking advantage of this to encourage the monarchy to recover these islands.

But these are not the only points of divergence. “The United Arab Emirates are signatories of the Abraham Accords, therefore allies of Israel”
adds Jean-Claude Allard. “The United Arab Emirates also participated in strikes during the start of the Israeli-American air campaign. And they are protected by Israel which has planned an air defense system.”
