From Corte to Rustinu, passing through the Venacais or the Niolu valley, several events will punctuate the summer season. A program which will once again combine Corsican culture, music, heritage and sharing this year, with events now well established in the landscape of the interior of the island.

In Corte, concerts and events throughout the summer

The Cité Paoline will concentrate a large part of the Corsica Center’s summer programming.

On May 23, on the occasion of Museum Night, the Corsican Museum will host an evening focusing on the island’s medieval history. The musical show “Medievu”, presented by the Mimoria Tramandata group at 9 p.m., will offer a dive into the Corsican Middle Ages through stories, songs and music mixing tradition and creation. Entrance to the museum will be free from 3 p.m. to midnight.

Like every summer, the Restonica Trail by UTMB will also help transform the city’s atmosphere from July 9 to 11. If the event remains above all sporting, each year it attracts thousands of runners and visitors who participate largely in the entertainment of the streets, shops and terraces for several days.

On July 30, the gardens of the Regional Contemporary Art Fund (Frac) will host a concert by I Chjami Aghjalesi organized by the Federation of Associations of Merchants and Artisans of Corte (Facac).

On August 1 and 2, E Notte di a Mandulina will take over the streets of Corte with concerts, musical strolls and activities around the mandolin and Mediterranean music.

Without forgetting the concerts in the Church of the Annunciation and the numerous events organized in town by merchants.

In the villages, a vibrant culture

At the beginning of June, on the 6th and 7th to be precise, the Vizzavona producers’ market organized by the community of communes of Central Corsica will combine crafts, local products and musical entertainment. Set up again this year at the Vizzavona pass, the market will have around sixty artisans ready to show off their work.

On June 27 and 28, the Fiera di a Caccia è di a Pesca in Ponte Novu is a must. Organized around the site of the old station, the event attracts several thousand visitors from all over Corsica each year. For two days, exhibitors, craftsmen and professionals will present hunting equipment, fishing equipment, cutlery and local products. Demonstrations of hunting dogs, blood research and even falconry are also announced. Beyond its commercial aspect, the event also boasts a heritage and cultural dimension, with musical entertainment, catering and a festive evening on Saturday.

In Calacuccia, between the festival of the ovens on June 20, the producers’ market on July 19, the Diana di l’Alba concert at the stadium on July 26, the summer promises to be lively. In all, eleven events ranging from the sixte tournament to the cinema, including the circus and religious festivals are planned.

The other villages are not left out, and some have abundant cultural programming.

On July 19, Venaco will, for example, host the event “Archaeology of absence, Corsican mythologies”, around art and the island imagination.

On August 11, the group I Muvrini will perform in Ponte Leccia, at the municipal stadium for a big concert as part of their “Nulu 33” tour.

All the major summer meetings have not yet been made official.

The 114D festival finally canceled

The 114D festival, which was to be held on July 2, 3 and 4 in Corte, will ultimately not take place. In a press release posted on social networks, the organizers explain that administrative constraints that appeared late forced them to abandon the event. However, the team says it hopes to be able to propose new projects soon and thanks the artists, partners and supporters mobilized around the festival.
