As Bangladesh prepares for Eid al-Adha, two unusually famous buffaloes have become the center of attention, not because of their size alone, but because locals believe they resemble global political figures Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu. The animals are now drawing crowds, selfies, and endless curiosity at farms near Dhaka.
According to a report by The Independent, one of the buffaloes, nicknamed “Donald Trump”, weighs nearly 700 kilograms and has become popular for its pale skin and light-colored hair, which many visitors say reminds them of the former US president’s iconic hairstyle.
A visitor quoted by Bangladeshi newspaper Prothom Alo reportedly joked that while the buffalo looked similar to Trump, its personality was much calmer and gentler. The buffalo’s owner, Ziauddin Mridha, told local publication The Business Standard that the nickname was originally given by his younger brother after noticing the animal’s unusual appearance. He also explained that albino buffaloes are generally peaceful unless provoked. Reports said the animal has already been sold ahead of Eid celebrations.
Meanwhile, another buffalo named after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also gone viral in Narayanganj. Unlike its calmer counterpart, this animal reportedly has a far more aggressive temperament. Weighing over 750 kilograms, the buffalo is said to frequently snort, charge at handlers, and display unpredictable behavior.
A farm manager quoted in local reports described the buffalo as “naughty” and said it seemed to possess a “devious intelligence”, adding to the internet fascination surrounding the animal.
With Eid approaching, the two buffaloes have turned into viral attractions across Bangladesh. Visitors continue flocking to the farms to photograph the animals, while social media users debate whether the comparisons to the world leaders are strangely accurate or simply hilarious coincidence.
