Agde: a week rich in culture, heritage and activities from May 18 to 24
The City of Agde unveils a new edition of its weekly agenda, with a particularly dense program from May 18 to 24, 2026.
Between exhibitions, shows, heritage, music, traditions and sporting events, residents and visitors will be spoiled for choice to take advantage of the numerous events offered in the Agathois Archipelago.
Among the highlights of this cultural week is the 22nd European Night of Museums, organized on Saturday May 23. The Musée de l’Éphébe and the Musée Agathois Jules Baudou will open their doors for a series of original events combining heritage, artistic creations and live shows.
At the Musée de l’Éphébe, visitors will be able to discover « Amphores vies embarquées », an artistic project created by the élèves de CM1-CM2 inspired by Antiquity, before attending the show “In the Garden of the Gods”, freely inspired by Ovid’s Metamorphoses.
The Agathois Museum will offer an immersion in local traditions with “The Agathois Museum enters the scene!” HAS”, a project carried out by the children of Calandreta Dagtenca. A sung stroll through the streets of Agde with the Occitan trio “Aqueles” will complete this evening dedicated to cultural transmission.
This week will also mark the opening of the exhibition “Greek Agde: archaeological discoveries from the Rhône to the Pyrenees”, presented at the Musée de l’Éphébe from May 21. More than a hundred archaeological objects, sometimes unpublished, will allow us to trace the Greek influence in Occitania through ceramics, objects of worship, weapons or architectural elements.
Contemporary art lovers will be able to enjoy several exhibitions spread across the city. The Art Lab City event takes over the historic heart of the city with 33 monumental sculptures exhibited in the streets of Agde and in the Belle-Isle park.
At the Espace Molière, the exhibition “Au bord du ciel” brings together the works of the painter Nicole Pfund and the sculptor Gilles Bonnin around an artistic dialogue between raw material and visual poetry.
Local heritage also remains in the spotlight with the “Boléro Ravel” exhibition at Château Laurens, proposed by the Philharmonie de Paris as part of the 150th anniversary of the birth of composer Maurice Ravel.
On the sports side, the Petits Corsaires Tournament promises a lively weekend around football at the Michel Millet stadium, in a family and festive atmosphere.
Finally, traditional markets, guided tours, nature discoveries, workshops and activities in media libraries and museums complete this eclectic program which confirms the cultural and associative dynamism of the Agathois city.
