The last day of Betclic Elite delivered its verdict on Saturday. While Paris Basketball dominated Lyon (87-76), Monaco lost to Boulazac (92-74) and surrendered their top spot to the Parisians before the playoffs.

The 30th day of the French championship concluded on Saturday with eight matches. Various scenarios now reveal the match-ups for the play-in and quarter-finals of the 2025-2026 Betclic Elite. The key lesson of the evening was the distant duel between Paris and Monaco. Playing in Boulazac, the Roca Team looked like newcomers with only four professional players on the field, Monaco predictably lost (92-74). Despite Kyllian Michee’s 21 points (top scorer of the match), the team from Monaco only held on for one quarter (21-21). With an 11-point deficit at halftime, the game was practically over. As for Paris, the celebration could begin.

Indeed, Paris Basketball had the opportunity to seize the first place like last year. Mission accomplished. Facing Lyon (4th), Nadir Hifi’s teammates emerged victorious (87-76) after trailing by eight points at the start of the third quarter. The Parisian point guard finished the game with 21 points and the season as the top scorer, averaging 20.4 points. In the standings, Paris and Monaco finished tied, but Parisians hold the advantage in head-to-head matchups: 1 win each but +23 for Paris.

Gravelines secured, Saint-Quentin in playoffs

Already assured of their position in the rankings, Strasbourg lost at home against Chalon in overtime (90-91). In the play-in, Strasbourg will travel to Bourg-en-Bresse to try to secure a spot in the quarter-finals. The loser of this match will face off against the winner of the game between Chalon (9th) and Nancy (10th) in a playoff. SLUC defeated Saint-Quentin (84-71), who finishes the season as a playoff contender. Saint-Quentin now faces a tough road ahead with playoffs against second division teams. A quarter-final against Poitiers awaits.

Gravelines, on the other hand, will have a 39th season in the elite of French basketball. Despite their loss to Bourg-en-Bresse (95-78), the Nordistes finish ahead of Saint-Quentin due to their advantage in the standings (+4). Dijon was close to breaking the points record. By defeating Le Portel (80-126), already condemned, Dijon came within six points of equaling the highest score in the championship (132).
