Kenton County police reported that a man died after being hit by a vehicle in Fort Wright on Friday. The incident occurred on Madison Pike around 11 p.m. near Highland Pike intersection.
First responders found the victim, a 37-year-old man, on the grass outside a Speedway gas station. Police believe he was crossing Madison Pike to the east when he was struck by a 2018 Subaru Impreza AWD Hatchback heading northbound.
The victim was taken to St. Elizabeth Healthcare Edgewood Hospital, where he passed away. The police have not disclosed the victim’s identity as they notify his family. The man was wearing all-black clothing when he was hit.
The driver, a 76-year-old man from Covington, stayed at the scene after the accident. It is unclear if the incident is under criminal investigation. The Kenton County Police Department’s Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Unit is still investigating. Anyone with information can contact the police at 859-392-1955.
