The players of Cédric Pardeilhan had a hard time increasing their advantage in the score. Often late in their defensive interventions, the Angloys still managed to hold their own until halftime, with a close call and a save on the line by Giffard on a powerful header from Durand (34th minute).
A breathtaking finale
Unfortunately, the Angloys were punished at the start of the second half. In the space of seven minutes, Onet turned the tables. First with an equalizer from Pouget who lobbed Giffard with a header (51st minute, 1-1), then with a penalty from Cueye to take the lead (58th minute, 1-2). The situation looked bleak, but the substitutes made a huge difference for Anglet. Xan Daguerre, in the penalty area, narrowed the gap with a left-footed shot (90th minute, 2-3) and Esteve, in a very tight angle on the right, sent a curled center into the opposite top corner from a corner kick (90th + 2 minutes, 3-3). Unexpected and almost miraculous. The Genêts remained in contention but understandably frustrated with their performance.
