Published Monday May 11, this investigation, signed by the daily columnist Nicholas Kristof and published in the Opinions pages of the title, describes “a pattern of widespread Israeli sexual violence†against Palestinians committed by prison guards, members of the security forces and settlers based on testimonies collected in the West Bank.
Faced with the outcry caused by the article, the Hebrew state announced on X on May 14, through the office of the Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and that of his Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gideon Saar, “launch a defamation action†against the leading American daily newspaper.
