At 51 years old, David Beckham has just reached a milestone that no one before him had reached among British athletes: the billion mark in assets. According to the annual ranking The Sunday Times Rich List, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid midfielder now has a fortune estimated at around 1.4 billion euros (pour him and Victoria Beckham reunited). A figure that makes you dizzy and a sum that propels it to the 141st richest people in the UK in 2025. He even places himself far ahead of King Charles III who knighted him on November 4 during a ceremony in Windsor.
What makes this heritage particularly impressive is thatit no longer really relies on football. Yes, David Beckham had a brilliant career on the pitch, but most of the current family fortune comes from elsewhere. Victoria and her cosmetics brand contribute to it, as do their production company at the origin of the Netflix documentary on the Beckham family, which was a hit when it was released. Add to that a string of commercial contracts with giants such as Adidas, Pepsi, Armani or even the Las Vegas Sands hotel group, and you begin to understand how we arrive at such amounts!
But the real wealth accelerator, the one that has really tipped the scales of the family in recent years, is theInter Miami. The American football club that Beckham co-founded in 2018, of which he holds around 26%, has taken on a global dimension since the arrival of Lionel Messi in its ranks. The franchise is now worth an astronomical sum and its value continues to rise. It’s hard to find a better investment.
David Beckham is not the only one to be talked about in this 2026 ranking
The enemy brothers and famous leaders of the group Oasis, Christmas and Liam Gallagher they appear for the first time in the Sunday Times Rich List, with a joint fortune estimated at around 440 million euros. It must be said that the group’s reunion tour, which took place last year, generated nearly 470 million euros in revenue. Enough to put the funds back afloat after years of fraternal quarrels!
As for other musicians already well established in the ranking, we are of course counting Paul McCartney who remains the richest among them with more than one billion two hundred million euros, followed by Elton John and the duo Mick Jagger–Keith Richards. Brian May and Roger Taylor, from Queen, are also doing well thanks in particular to the sale of the group’s catalog in 2024 for nearly one billion two hundred million euros, the largest transaction in the history of music for a catalog of artists.
A ranking that also says something about Britain today
This Rich List 2026 is not just an inventory of the country’s dizzying fortunes. Indeed, it also points to a less striking reality: the number of billionaires in the United Kingdom has fallen by twenty units in four years. Many have chosen to settle abroadafter a series of tax increases. A flight of capital which is also beginning to seriously worry British economists…
For David Beckham, however, these tax considerations seem very distant. The man who made headlines last year for his hair escapades and especially for his clan’s endless family war is today at the head of an empire that surpasses imagination. Not bad for a kid from Leytonstone who just dreamed of playing football!
