Our forecast: St Etienne does not lose against Rodez and both teams score (1.80)
The Greens will regret having lost to Bastia, against Troyes and to Rodez at the end of the season. In fact, despite their 5-0 victory against Amiens on Saturday, they finished 3rd behind Le Mans, winner against Bastia, and tonight have to play a promotion playoff against Rodez, winner of the playoff on Red Star’s field (3-2). The Ruthenois will definitely pose problems for the Stéphanois as they just beat them in Aveyron (2-1) and especially because they are undefeated in the championship (L2) since their last defeat on November 7, 2025 against Grenoble: twelve victories and eight draws in twenty days! On the other hand, ASSE has won six times in their last seven matches at Geoffroy-Guichard. St Etienne had clearly dominated Rodez in the “Chaudron” on the second day of Ligue 2 (4-0). This time, I think the task of the Greens will be more complicated. And as the Ruthenois have scored in 80% of their last ten away matches, I suggest playing 1N with goals from both sides to almost double your initial bet.
