The 17-year-old singer delivered a unique performance revealing the scenography of her song, “Regarde!”, two days before the final of the singing competition.
It was a first. Monroe, the French candidate, revealed the scenography of her song, Regarde !during the second semi-final of Eurovision, in Vienna (Austria), Thursday May 14. The 17-year-old young woman appeared dressed all in white, surrounded by dancers dressed in black, on the stage of the Wiener Stadthalle. She sang her piece mixing pop and lyrical singing, surrounded by jets of smoke and dynamic choreography.
Fifteen countries compete in this semi-final broadcast on France 4. No challenge for Monroe: France, which is one of the biggest financiers of Eurovision, is automatically qualified for Saturday’s final. But since 2024, the members of the “big five” have nevertheless presented their song in the semi-finals, outside of competition.
Franco-American and born in the United States, Monroe was discovered by the French public in “Prodiges”, a competition broadcast on France 2 and dedicated to young classical virtuosos. His first album was released in November. If it is one of the favorites for the Eurovision final, it is Finland which dominates the predictions.
