Former High School Sports Director in Haute-Saône Defends Himself Against Online Trap
Former school sports director in Haute-Saône has been in custody in Vesoul since Tuesday, after falling into an online trap set by an internet user claiming to be a “hunter” of sexual predators aided by AI, according to information from ICI Besançon on Wednesday, May 13.
In a live video broadcasted on Twitch on Monday, Dominique B., former UNSS director in Haute-Saône and former administrator of the Olympic and Sports Committee of Haute-Saône, is seen engaging in a conversation with “Finnyzyy”, an internet user who claims to be “hunting online predators”. Thanks to artificial intelligence, the internet user’s face is altered to appear as a 14-year-old girl, and their voice is also modified to sound like a young girl.
Thinking he is talking to a teenager, Dominique B. asks the supposed girl if she has sent nude photos, suggests going to a football match, and even proposes kissing. He also offers to show his genitals. The Vesoul prosecutor’s office explained on Wednesday that the Pharos platform informed the police of Haute-Saône about the video showing “a conversation with sexual content between a man and a 14-year-old girl”. The man seen in the video, a 66-year-old retiree, presented himself at the Vesoul police station and was immediately taken into custody, which has been extended.
An investigation has been opened for the fabrication and distribution of violent, pornographic messages or those contrary to the dignity accessible to minors, sexual proposals made to a minor by an adult using electronic means of communication, and solicitation of a minor by an adult for the dissemination or transmission of pornographic images. The investigation has been entrusted to the territorial crime division of the Vesoul police. The prosecutor’s office also announced that the opening of a judicial inquiry is being considered after the custody.
According to the public ministry, a search conducted at the suspect’s home in Vesoul resulted in the seizure of “numerous digital media: laptop, tablet, USB drive, phone, and SD card”. The investigation aims to exploit the seized digital media and verify the circumstances under which the video was made.
The video went viral within hours and prompted the French National Olympic and Sports Committee to distance itself. The CNOSF (French National Olympic and Sports Committee) reacted by expressing “horror at the revelations concerning Dominique B.” The CNOSF reminds that he no longer holds any position within the organization since January 2020. If the newly reported facts were to be confirmed, they would be of absolute gravity, the committee stated, underlining its zero-tolerance policy towards behaviors that may involve sexual violence against minors.
The former UNSS director in Haute-Saône served as the school sports director in the department for several years. In early 2025, he was convicted of possessing pornographic images of minors and attempting to corrupt minors by the Vesoul criminal court. In 2020, he was placed under investigation for sexual assaults on minors. Several families had reported him to the justice system for sending sexually explicit text messages to high school students in Lure (Haute-Saône). While acquitted of sexual assault, he was convicted of possessing pornographic images and attempting to corrupt minors.
The association close to the TikToker Finnyzyy released a press statement on their Instagram account, urging individuals not to take justice into their own hands. The platform for raising awareness against online sexual predators noted that several doxxing attempts were observed on websites and TikTok chats. Doxxing involves revealing the true identity of an internet user and threatening their privacy.
