Also present at the ceremony were poet Nguyen Quang Thieu, president of the Vietnamese Writers Association; the poet Huu Viet, vice-president of the Vietnamese Writers’ Association; Ms. Nguyen Thuy Hang, director of the publishing house of the Vietnamese Writers Association; and Ms. Huynh Thi Kim Huong, Secretary-General of the Council of the Institute of Eastern Development Studies, who supervised the translation.
During the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ngo Le Van, praised the historical and literary value of the work, as well as its importance for foreign policy. According to him, although dealing with history, the book is presented in a literary style, thus contributing to the wide dissemination of the thought and legacy of President H Chi Minh.
The vice minister said the book received active support and encouragement from the Vietnamese Writers Association, demonstrating shared responsibility in preserving and promoting the values of He Chi Minh’s legacy.

Deputy Minister Ngo Le Van stressed that cultural diplomacy plays a crucial role among the pillars of foreign policy. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has always paid special attention to promoting He Chi Minh’s ideology, ethics, style and foreign policy throughout the world.
According to the Deputy Minister, the work “In the footsteps of the great leader” is a new tool of considerable practical importance in the implementation of cultural diplomacy.
On behalf of the leaders and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the vice minister expressed gratitude to professor, doctor and writer Trinh Quang Phu and Chairman of the Vietnamese Writers Association Nguyen Quang Thieu and other relevant people for donating valuable works to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to support its work.
The vice minister also indicated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will effectively use the works donated, in particular by integrating them into training on foreign affairs and the ideology of He Chi Minh’s foreign policy, as documents of important references. At the same time, these books will be distributed to Vietnamese representations abroad, embassies and consulates in order to present and disseminate them to the international community.

Speaking at the ceremony, President of the Vietnamese Writers Association Nguyen Quang Thieu said that professor and doctor Trinh Quang Phu is one of the writers who devoted a large part of their life to the research and study of President Ho Chi Minh and the translation of this research into valuable literary works.
Chairman of the Vietnamese Writers Association Nguyen Quang Thieu expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for agreeing and supporting the release of the book series. He declared that the promotion of this work is not limited to the simple presentation of a literary work, but also contributes to transmitting the values of Vietnamese character, culture, ideology and morality through the figure of President Hô Chi Minh.
He also praised the dedication of professor, doctor and writer Trinh Quang Phu in his research and work on President Hô Chi Minh. According to him, more and more young people today continue to study and write about Hô Chi Minh by bringing new perspectives adapted to the current context, thus contributing to perpetuate and disseminate the ideological and moral values of the president at each stage of the country’s development.
The president of the Vietnamese Writers Association also said that in the coming months, the Association will continue to implement more programs aimed at promoting literary works about President Ha Chi Minh to a wide audience, both domestically and internationally.

Deeply touched by the sincere feelings of the leaders and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Professor and Doctor Trinh Quang Phu expressed his honor to present, along with the Vietnamese Writers Association, his work “In the Footsteps of the Great Leader”. The author said he worked in the diplomatic corps before 1975 and always considered it “a warm home.”
According to him, foreign affairs, and in particular interpersonal diplomacy, are of capital importance for the country. His experience in the field and his travels abroad allowed him to access many valuable documents concerning President Hô Chi Minh, to study them and exploit them to nourish his creative work.

He said he had discussed with poet Nguyen Quang Thieu the possibility of donating books to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in order to raise awareness among Vietnamese representations abroad, thus contributing to the creation of a Ho Chi Minh cultural space in the embassies and consulates general.
Writer Trinh Quang Phu also expressed his wish to collaborate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the translation and publication of his works in several languages, including French, Spanish and Portuguese, in order to reach readers in Africa, South America and Europe. According to him, this would be a way effective in promoting the thought, culture and image of Vietnam throughout the world.
