E-sport: ARKHÈ wins DEF’LAN 2026

Victoire pour ARKHÈ !

The team from the Ministry of the Armed Forces and Veterans won the final of DEF’LAN 2026, the joint e-sport tournament which took place on May 9 and 10 at Fort de Bicêtre. Organized by the Digital Defense Commission (CND), this tournament, the first edition of which took place last year, saw several teams compete: that of the ministry, that of the Army, the National Navy, the Air and Space Force, the National Gendarmerie and the CND.

Skills development

For three days, the teams participated in a multi-player strategy game (League of Legends – final won by ARKHÈ) and a first-person shooter (Counter Strike 2 – final won by the GameGend team of the Gendarmerie) in a spirit of cohesion and surpassing oneself.

The practice of e-sport by civilians and soldiers of the Ministry of the Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs makes it possible to develop and strengthen key skills. E-sport players particularly improve their cognitive skills (strategy, analysis), their stress management as well as their ability to make rapid and coordinated decisions which are decisive in operations.

Strengthen the army-Nation link

Another undeniable advantage: this tournament creates links between the different armies, directorates and services around common values ​​such as team spirit and surpassing oneself. It thus contributes to modernizing the image of the armies to strengthen the Army-Nation bond. Finally, e-sport – which brings together more than 13 million regular practitioners in France – contributes more widely to bringing the military world closer to the generation digital native by speaking the same language and sharing the same codes.
