Michael B. Jordan announced the television series adaptation of the novel “Fourth Wing” by Rebecca Yarros, which is the first book in a literary saga planned to be divided into six volumes.

A fascinating project. It was during the big evening organized by Amazon at the Beacon Theater in New York, Monday, May 11, that Michael B. Jordan, who this time wore his producer’s hat via his company Outlier Society Productions, announced the television series adaptation of the novel “Fourth Wing” by Rebecca Yarros. A project in gestation at Prime Video for 2 and a half years, which he aims to bring to fruition.

Launched in bookstores in May 2023, this literary saga which currently has three volumes, with three more to come in a series called “The Empyrean”, has succeeded in attracting millions of readers around the world. The story follows the adventures of Violet Sorrengail, a young 20-year-old student who aspires to join the Scribes quadrant, which designates the members responsible for documenting history, within the War Academy of Basgiath, in the fictional country of Navarre.

But her destiny is thwarted when her mother, a prominent general of the Academy, orders her to choose another path, one that will make her a rider and a dragon trainer. Forced to join the Riders quadrant despite her puny physique, Violet will have to survive a series of perilous ordeals and bond with a dragon in order to join the front of the war in which Navarre is involved.

The young woman will also be the target of other ill-intentioned riders, notably Jack Barlowe, a sadistic first year friend who swore to kill her, or Xaden Riorson, a third year student whose father had led a rebellion against Navarre before of being killed by Violet’s mother. Fortunately, she will also be able to count on the support of her friends, Rhiannon Matthias, Sawyer Henrick and Ridoc Gamlyn.Â
