The lead negotiator of Iran and Parliament President Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned on Monday, May 11, that his country was ready to resume war in case of aggression. Later in the day, Donald Trump, judged the ceasefire as very fragile.
The resurgence of war between Iran and the United States has never been so close. Iran’s lead negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated on Monday, May 11, that Iran was prepared to “teach a lesson” in case of new aggression, responding to Donald Trump’s claims about the ceasefire being very fragile.
“Our armed forces are ready to respond and to teach a lesson in case of aggression,” wrote the Iranian Parliament President on the social network X, adding: “we are ready for any eventuality, they will be surprised.”
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf also warned later that day that there would be “no alternative” to Iran’s “14-point proposal” to end the war.
“Any other approach will be completely futile; nothing but repeated failures. The longer they drag their feet, the more American taxpayers will pay,” he explained.
A “completely stupid” proposal
American President Donald Trump had stated, at the White House, that the ceasefire between the United States and Iran was “on life support.” He also called the Iranian peace proposal “completely stupid” and “unacceptable” in front of the media in the Oval Office.
Donald Trump reiterated several times that “Iran cannot have nuclear weapons” and that he would continue to ensure this. “They think we will eventually tire, but that is not the case,” he explained, promising a “complete victory” for the United States.
