IN BRIEF • Benedict Cumberbatch, actor Sherlockwas involved in a heated altercation with a cyclist in London after running several red lights.
• The scene, filmed near King’s Cross, shows the actor denying certain facts and accusing the other cyclist of having insulted him.
• Several passers-by witnessed the incident, which sparked astonishment and reactions on social networks.

An unusual scene in the streets of London on Tuesday May 5. Around 5:30 p.m., near the very central King’s Cross station, a heated altercation broke out between two cyclists. Except that one of them was none other than Benedict Cumberbatch.

As reported The Sun this Sunday, May 10, supporting video of the incident (see below), the British actor, particularly famous for his interpretation of the famous detective in the series Sherlockwas attacked by an anonymous cyclist for a good ten minutes.

It was a passerby who recounted the scene to the British media. He claims to have seen, just before the argument broke out between the two men, the actor’s cargo bike run a red light on a cycle path. A cyclist present just behind him then chased him before saying: “I knew you were going to do this.”

Thanks to this witness who filmed part of the scene, we can then hear the cyclist attack Benedict Cumberbatch: “You are wrong!” You are lying! I was behind you the whole time!”. Obviously, the actor would have actually run several red lights in a row, then denied having done so to this man.

Benedict Cumberbatch even took off his helmet to confront the person who was calling on him. The actor defends himself in particular by accusing the cyclist of having insulted him.

Sarcastic crying gesture

The other cyclist then reacts with a sarcastic crying gesture, saying: “Oh no, I insulted the guy who broke the law several times!” Benedict Cumberbatch admet : “I did it once.” But the accuser doesn’t give up: “and then you burned a pedestrian crossing, you burned three fires!†“No, pas du tout”then retorts the actor.

All under the eyes of several stunned passers-by, as we can see in the images.

“It was crazy! Such a scene of anger on a bike, so pretentious, that it seemed like a staging. Despite his nervous breakdown, Benedict managed to charm all the spectators.”and témoigné auprès du Sun the one who filmed the scene.
