The La Berrichonne de Châteauroux club wishes to express its deep indignation following the remarks and behavior exhibited by the president of Union Foot Touraine during the match between our two clubs.
Throughout and at the end of this match, particularly inappropriate, disrespectful, and contrary to the values of the sport were made against our institution. Publicly wishing for the relegation of a historic club is regrettable; wishing for its disappearance, even “the death of the club,” far exceeds the limits of acceptable sports rivalry.
Football should remain a space of respect, passion, and fair play. Disagreements, tensions, and competition cannot justify hurtful, humiliating, or destructive remarks towards a club, its leaders, volunteers, employees, players, and all its supporters.
Our club strongly condemns these actions and words, which do not reflect well on either their author or the image of amateur and professional football that we collectively have the duty to defend.
Despite this behavior, we will continue to uphold our values: respect, dignity, hard work, and a deep attachment to our territory and our history. La Berrichonne de Châteauroux deserves better than personal attacks and hateful statements.
Finally, we thank all those – supporters, partners, educators, and football enthusiasts – who show us their daily support and loyalty.
The club will remain fully committed to defending its honor, its image, and its values.
