The French ambassador was recalled to Paris on April 17, 2025, the day after a decision unprecedented since 1962: Algeria had just expelled twelve French agents reporting to the Ministry of the Interior. Since then, he has never returned.
He therefore returns to his residence, the Villa des Oliviers, this Friday, according to a press release from the Élysée, where he will receive Alice Rufo. Emmanuel Macron declares that he wants “restore effective dialogue”, “with priority attention” upon the return of Christophe Gleizes.
