Bram. Dance: “Culture, images and gestures” presents its 2026 creation

Like every year at this time, Culture, images et gestures presents its contemporary dance show. The 2026 creation, the result of work undertaken since the last school year in September, is entitled “When I grow up”. The association chaired by Maéva Boisnault confirms its artistic commitment with a new collective work combining bodily expression and reflection on the journey of life. The 80 dancers (children, adolescents and adults) will this year be on stage in Montreal, Salle des Halles (near the town hall), this Friday May 8 and Saturday May 9 at 8:30 p.m. This annual meeting has been mobilizing volunteers for several weeks, and attracting an ever-increasing audience, curious to discover the original creations worn by passionate amateur artists.

Created by Jocya Ripiego, jazz dance teacher, she describes her work as follows: “Growing up means moving from childhood dreams to the reality of the world. Through each painting, the dancers explore the fears, struggles and hopes that build each of us. A sensitive and committed journey, where we gradually learn to accept ourselves, to believe in ourselves and to find our place. Because “when I grow up”, perhaps it’s simply becoming yourself”. Cérémonie. The national day of commemoration of the Victory of May 8, 1945 will be celebrated tomorrow, Friday. The gathering of Societies and Constituent Bodies is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on the secularism square, in front of the town hall. At 9:40 a.m., the parade will begin through the streets of the city, to the War Memorial, where several wreaths will be laid and official messages will be read. After the honor paid to the flag in front of the town hall, a glass of friendship will be served at the Café de la Place, in the presence of the authorities.
