[Culture] Château-Thierry. The Poetic Encounters return for a 6th edition from May 15 to 17, 2026

The City of Château-Thierry is organizing the 6th edition of the Poetic Meetings from Friday May 15 to Sunday May 17, 2026 at the media library

Jean Macé and in several places in the city.

 

This cultural event offers a three-day program accessible to all: readings, shows, concerts, conferences, creative workshops and meetings with authors and artists.

 

This edition is part of the cultural year “Welcome to La Fontaine” and accompanies the reopening of the Jean de La Fontaine museum.

It highlights the poetic spirit of the city through a diversity of artistic forms.

 

Among the highlights: 

 

Friday May 15 

• 5:00 p.m.: Inauguration and presentation of the Francophone Poetic Novel Prize, followed by a musical reading by the award-winning author and musician Ariel Tintar,
• 8:30 p.m.: “Georges and Georges” show at the Palais des Rencontres.

Saturday May 16 

• 5:00 p.m.: Musical reading “Au pays de La Fontaine”, in collaboration with the Académie Charles Cros.

Sunday May 17 

• 9:30 a.m.: Family walk in the footsteps of Jean de La Fontaine (registration required),
• 10:30 a.m.: Prize giving for the fable competition,
• 4:00 p.m.: Closing concert “Syrinx, the bird singers” by Piano Château & Co.

Throughout the weekend, participatory workshops (writing, printmaking, visual arts), poetic dinner, wanderings, poetic intervention brigade, short film caravan and activities for children and families will punctuate the three days. The actor Smaïn will participate

at several times of the event.

The public will be able to meet numerous authors, illustrators and independent publishers, in partnership with the Librairie des Fables. An artisan market and a restaurant area will be offered on site.

 

The event is free and open to all, without prior registration.
