After the heavy defeat against Paris FC (0-4), Brestois coach Éric Roy expressed serious concerns about the club’s sporting project.

This Sunday, the setback against Paris FC not only left a mark on the scoreline. It revealed a deeper fracture within Stade Brestois. Outclassed in all areas of the game, Brestois delivered a very worrying performance. In this context, Éric Roy did not try to hide his concern.

On the contrary. In a statement to L’Équipe, the technician provided a clear analysis of the direction taken by the club. “I just look at my team and project into the future. What I see is worrying today, but it’s worrying for the future,” he said before directly addressing the sports policy: “If the project is still to sell our best players (…) and tinker again and again, it’s obvious that it will become complicated.”

Beyond the field, it is the overall future of the Brestois project that appears to be fragile. In this climate, Roy does not rule out any scenario, including a hasty departure. “Do you really want me to tell you that I’m going to leave? I have the choice, and today I don’t know. But it could also be that it’s not me who will decide,” he continued, even mentioning a possible decision from his management: “My president could very well tell me, ‘We are going to change the project.’ In a club where the end of the season seemed trivial in terms of sports, Éric Roy’s departure now sounds like a potentially turbulent signal.”
