Tragic evening at Quatre-Temps. Tuesday night, a 64-year-old man died after a terrible fall inside the giant shopping center in the business district of La Défense.
It was around 9:30 p.m. when the sixty-year-old man fell over the railing on the second floor of the huge shopping gallery in the rotunda area. The man, who fell about 30 meters, landed on level -4 of the shopping center. Despite the intervention of emergency services, the man did not survive his injuries. “The fall was terrible, he had a fractured skull,” said a police source.
A deliberate fall into the void
The circumstances of this tragedy seem to leave little room for doubt. The victim was not pushed. He did not accidentally fall over the railing but rather took his own life. “The surveillance system footage shows that he deliberately jumps into the void,” explains the same source.
This is not the first time Quatre-Temps has been the scene of a fatal fall. On Saturday, February 18, 2023, a man had already jumped from the second level of the main shopping center in the La Défense district. The noise of his fall was heard as a gunshot by the many visitors to the area, causing scenes of panic. Scenes whose images quickly flooded social networks. Once again, the suicide was confirmed by viewing surveillance cameras.
