A national tribute will be paid to Corporal Chief Anicet Girardin this Tuesday, April 28 at the 132nd RIC of Suippes in the presence of Minister Catherine Vautrin.

At the age of 31, Corporal-Chef Anicet Girardin passed away due to injuries sustained in a combat action in Lebanon, will be honored in a national tribute ceremony on Tuesday, April 28 at his regiment, the 132nd RIC in Suippes, Marne.

Catherine Vautrin, Minister of the Armed Forces, announced this on Thursday, April 23, during the national tribute to Adjudant Florian Montorio. He was deceased on April 18 in Lebanon when a French patrol was attacked by an armed group in the southern part of the country. Three other soldiers, who were also part of Operation Daman, the French participation in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), were injured during this combat action.

In the presence of the Minister and the Chief of Staff of the Army, including Corporal-Chef Anicet Girardin, 31 years old, a team leader at the 132nd Regiment of Canine Infantry (RIC) in Suippes, Marne. He did not survive his injuries and will also receive military honors at a solemn ceremony this Tuesday morning, April 28. The ceremony will be attended by his relatives, comrades, Minister Catherine Vautrin, and General Pierre Schill, Chief of Staff of the Army.
