New setback for OM

L’OM will present itself more diminished than expected against Nice this Sunday night.

OM is going through a rough patch, on and off the field. Hindered by three defeats in the span of four days, the Marseillais have lost their grip in the race for the Champions League. So much so that they are now required to beat Nice this Sunday evening at the Velodrome, closing the 31st round of Ligue 1. Otherwise, they risk losing ground permanently.

To achieve this goal, Habib Beye will have to innovate, as he will be without many key players against the Aiglons. In addition to the absences of Nayef Aguerd, CJ Egan-Riley, and Geoffrey Kondogbia, the absence of Amine Gouiri, Igor Paixao, and Bilal Nadir has been added following the defeat to Lorient last week (2-0). And the list has grown longer today.

Traoré, the surprise forfeit…

Initially announced as a starter, Hamed Junior Traoré will also ultimately miss the match against Nice — a real blow for the Olympians with a struggling offensive sector. The Ivorian forward is ill and therefore is not included in the group selected by the Marseille staff, being replaced by the young Tadjidine Mmadi.
