The 47-year-old construction worker who was shot after a verbal altercation at a Glendale job site was recognized by his union in a social media post. Ironworkers Local 75 represents Arizona’s skilled ironwork craftsmen. “We regret to inform you that our brother Tim McFarlin tragically lost his life yesterday while working on a jobsite in Glendale. Tim was a great friend and ironworker. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time,” the post said. On the morning of April 23, an altercation between two construction workers at a job site near 91st Avenue and Cardinals Way escalated into the shooting. As tempers flared, one of the men went back to his work truck to retrieve his gun stored in the vehicle, according to Officer Jose Santiago, a Glendale police spokesperson. The shooter, who has yet to be identified, fired several shots, striking and critically injuring McFarlin, who later died, according to Santiago. The Glendale police investigation was continuing, he said.
