Cal State San Marcos will be hosting Super STEM Saturday, a science festival featuring over 130 hands-on activities and demonstrations. Attendees can participate in building and launching rockets, observing the sun’s surface, and learning about the wonders of chemistry.
The event is sponsored by Viasat, with their vice president emphasizing the importance of exposing children to science and technology to inspire future careers in STEM fields. The festival will take place rain or shine from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is open to children of all ages.
Dean Jackie Trischman of the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics at CSUSM describes Super STEM Saturday as a powerful event that aims to showcase diversity in science and bring the community together to appreciate the impact of science in our daily lives.
The festival will be held at Cal State San Marcos, located at 333 S. Twin Oaks Valley Road, with activities spread across the campus. Free parking is available in lots E, F, and H.
