Emirates strengthens its commitment to inclusion by deploying its “Travel Simulations” for children and young adults with autism worldwide in over 40 cities, benefiting more than 250 families.

The aim is to familiarize individuals with the steps of air travel to reduce anxiety and promote smoother journeys. Through the dedication of its teams and airport partners, the airline is making travel a more accessible and well-prepared experience for neurodiverse individuals. Following positive feedback from families, schools, and autism-focused organizations after the initial simulations, Emirates’ Accessibility and Inclusion Office has formalized these simulations into an official program, set to be rolled out across its global network. “We will continue to build on this success with more destinations, increased team involvement, and even more families positively impacted, empowered to travel confidently by air,” said Sami Aqil Abdullah, Emirates’ Senior Vice President of Outstation Airport Services & Commercial Support. It’s worth noting that over 35,000 Emirates staff members have been trained to assist autistic customers and facilitate their journeys, including the Travel Simulations.
