Catherine Sirguey will defend her Habilitation to Supervise Research (HDR) on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Her thesis is entitled “Hyperaccumulator plants for sustainable and multifunctional management of contaminated soils“. It will take place at Amphitheater Maillard 2 at the National Higher School of Agronomy and Food Industries (ENSAIA).

Abstract: Soils contaminated with trace elements and heavy metals are a major issue at the interface between environmental protection, human health, and ecological transition. The management of these soils is evolving from a logic of decontamination to phytomanagement, an integrated approach aimed at controlling risks while maintaining or restoring ecosystem services.
