Italy is back in Dijon with Cinevoce 14. The festival offers a cultural immersion blending cinema, music, theater, and visual arts, with a premiere on April 26 at Cinema Darcy, before a broader program in May at different venues in the city.
Cinevoce 14: between cinema and Italian culture
The Cinevoce 14 festival returns to Dijon with a new edition focused on Italian cinema and artistic creation. Before its official launch in May, a first meeting is scheduled for the public on April 26 at Cinema Darcy. This inaugural evening will feature the screening of the film “Vivaldi et moi,” directed by Damiano Michieletto. The story unfolds in 18th-century Venice and follows a young orphaned musician whose life changes with the arrival of Antonio Vivaldi. The screening will be presented by Paolo Modugno, the festival’s film coordinator, who will also lead a discussion with the audience after the screening.
A rich program in May
The festival will continue from May 9 to 17, mainly at Salle Devosge, with a varied program that goes beyond cinema. On the agenda: art exhibitions, concerts, theater, and gourmet moments around Italian culture. An exhibition featuring several artists will be accessible daily.
In terms of performances, several events will punctuate the two weeks: concerts, contemporary theater, operatic performances, and festive evenings around Italian music and gastronomy.
The festival will also extended with daily screenings of recent and classic Italian films until May 22, accompanied by presentations and discussions with the audience.
A festival to promote Italian cinema
With Cinevoce 14, the organizers aim to defend and promote Italian art cinema, while creating a space for interaction between artists, films, and viewers. A way to bring this cinematography to life beyond the dark rooms and occasional screenings.
