The propaganda continues between the United States and Iran. After unveiling spectacular images in early March of an American submarine launching and sinking an Iranian ship in the Indian Ocean, the U.S. military has now shown several excerpts of the seizure of an Iranian ship attempting to breach the blockade of Iranian ports imposed by the United States on the night of April 19-20.

In videos broadcast and shared by BFMTV, helicopters taking off in the night can be seen, filmed through night vision goggles, followed by American soldiers disembarking on the deck of an Iranian ship. “U.S. Marines left the amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli by helicopter and flew over the Sea of Oman to board and seize the M/V Touska,” wrote the U.S. Army on X. According to the Central Command of the U.S. Army, the cargo ship “refused to comply with U.S. warnings for six hours.”

Another video, shared by the Reuters news agency, shows the American military firing on the Iranian ship after several warnings, as the propulsion system of the Touska had been “neutralized” by the navy beforehand. Describing this seizure as “armed piracy,” Iran has vowed to “respond soon,” accusing the United States of having “violated the ceasefire.” “The armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will respond soon and take retaliatory measures against this act of armed piracy and against the American military,” wrote the spokesman for the Iranian general staff on Telegram.

As a reminder, American officials cited by the Wall Street Journal stated on Saturday that the military is preparing to “board tankers linked to Iran and seize commercial vessels in international waters.” “The United States will actively pursue any ship flying the Iranian flag or attempting to provide material support to Iran,” including “ghost fleet ships,” warned General Dan Caine, chief of staff of the U.S. armed forces. This decision was made to increase pressure on Tehran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
