In an interview published in the US Sun on Sunday, April 19, former model Kayti Edwards – also the ex-partner of Cher’s son, Elijah Blue Allman – revealed that she herself announced to the singer of “Believe” that she was the grandmother of a young girl named Ever, now 15 years old, during an emotionally charged phone call made in June 2025, after Elijah’s overdose.
“Cher contacted me last June and asked me if it was true, so I had to admit,” acknowledged the young woman who now lives on a ranch in Joshua Tree with her four children and husband. She said she had heard about it from Elijah in 2021 but didn’t know if it was just wild talk or the truth. When she learned the news, she was left speechless,” she added. “Cher said to her family: ‘Oh my God, I’m finally a grandmother.'”

Elijah and I spent the night together and I got pregnant. He knew from the first day, but he never wanted to be a parent. He would come around every couple of years, but he would just say hello,” the former model continued. According to her, it was only after his overdose in 2021 that he finally revealed the existence of his hidden child to his then-partner. Currently under urgent guardianship by the singer due to his drug addiction and money management issues, Elijah Blue Allman does not seem to play a central role in his daughter’s life. “She has a father who has raised her from day one, and that’s her father. I couldn’t dream of a better father for my children,” Kayti Edwards concluded in reference to her current husband.

Once the news of her new role settled in, the 79-year-old singer obviously met her new granddaughter. “She was lovely and kind and we had fun,” Kayti Edwards stated. “Cher asked Ever if she wanted to see her wardrobe and showed her a pair of jeans she had worn at a concert. It was a great experience for her.” Clearly excited about her new role as a grandmother, Cher also reportedly questioned Ever about her love life and played in the pool with her. “She was like a child herself,” Edwards added.
“She sent her a Christmas card and a gift. She called her and they talked on the phone. Cher is really trying. It’s an adjustment, and I don’t force any relationship, it has to come naturally,” she added. Approaching 80 years old, she is discovering a whole new life, far from the spotlight and glitz.
